Pop culture is all around us. It influences the things we do, buy, and the way we act. Popular culture changes as the world changes but it is always there. How many times have you heard someone use the phrase “cool” or, “wanna hang out?” These phrases I am sure everyone has used and they are part of our pop culture.
Pop culture has influenced my circle of friends somewhat. I would like to believe that we still have our own ideas and thoughts but I know that the way we dress and the music we listen to is influenced by popular culture.
The way pop culture has influenced our generation is huge I think. You see all the problems celebrities have and we now think of that as the norm for our society. I know there has been times I have read something and thought, “I should be more surprised then I am right now.” Chaos and disorder has become the norm in our society. It is sad that on the news there is more coverage on our celebrities then on the presidential candidates, but that is not what the majority of the people what to hear about.
Even the people who try not to do what the popular thing they always seem to group together and form a sub culture, that once again draws people in and influences how you act.

I agree with the things you talk about in your blog about popular culture. Yes people use the phase cool because thats the kind of things they hear and see on TV or internet. You're right in what you said about the celebrities. We see more about them in the news than we hear or see about anything thats of importance.
You are exactly right, pop-culture can not be avoided. Even when we try not to do things associated with pop-culture we end up doing them anyways. Pop culture is universal and cannot be escaped but can be reduced to a limited supply.
You bring up good points. I didn't think of slang as being a part of pop culture, but it's relatively obvious that it is.
Also, disorder and chaos are definitely the norm in our society and that is sad. I didn't think about that before.
